Most price widgets take a full row or a card. This one is inline: it flows with your text, wraps with it, and takes its size from the surrounding font rather than a fixed pixel height. Drop it into a paragraph, a list item, a heading, or a table cell and the line height stays put. That makes it the right fit for article bodies, where a block-level widget would break the reading flow.
The Full Card on Hover
The pill itself stays short — logo, symbol, change. Hovering it opens the same card the ticker uses: a price chart for the last session and a performance grid running 1W, 1M, 3M, 6M, YTD and 1Y, with a link through to full details. On phones the card opens on tap instead, since there is no hover to work with. You choose whether the card shows the chart, the performance grid, or both.
Numbers That Stay Current
A price typed into an article is wrong the next day. A ticker tag is not: it fetches the live figure each time the page loads and keeps it updating over WebSocket while the reader is there. An article written this month still shows today's number next year — which matters most for evergreen explainers and comparison pages that keep earning traffic long after publication.
